Lane's End Adriano comes Back

Adriano punched his ticket to Louisville with a mid pack move that carried him to victory.  With his A. P. Indy just starting to kick in he could be one of the top 10 favorites in Kentucky.

In the Fountain of Youth, I touted Adriano and have been following this striking son all winter.  In the Fountain of Youth Adriano drew the outside post and it was 88 degrees.  Today he thrived on the cool weather.

The Beyer speed figure will come back slow because this is a slow crop of horses.  These synthetic races are run like turf races with horses bunching up and finishing strong.  Medjool ran wide the entire race and made a move entering the stretch.

Halo Najib now was the earnings to get in the Derby and he keeps on improving and plugging along.  With Zayat calling the shots we will see him in Louisville.

The CQ score comes up with a 3, he attacked the leader going into the far turn, pulled away and was under a drive in mid stretch, and then finished while being ease up slightly, the fast opening quarter created a pack of horses from 3rd through 8 place and this helped Adriano, lay back and establish position.

In the Rushaway Stakes, Miner's Claim looked solid in defeat, off a long layoff and a minor fever missing 15 days of training.  He came up a little short.  But when Big Glen passed him inside the stretch he dug down and began running again, something War Pass did not do last week.  Miner's Claim did not want the lead, the fractions were slow 24 and change for the quarter 49 and change for the half.

Miner's Claim should be able to improve 4 to 6 lengths off this race.  With the Blue Grass shaping up as a full field and tough race.  Miner's Claim should go to the Illinois Derby and try to get the earnings to make the field.  It will be interesting where they run him next.
