The Futures are Out - Pool 1

Future pools for round one have been released. Some very surprising horses in this pool. The Field bet is very tempting this year for the first time in several years. 

First off horses with low chances of winning the Derby:Georgie BoyBob Black JackSmooth AirHorses with no Graded Earnings yet, and will be facing large fields in their next start:Dennis Of CorkVisionaire,Signature MoveMonbaThere are 3 horses from the morning line odds who are playable. Monba, who will not be near 30-1, is worth a play, but still needs earnings.

Etched is a possible play for 2 reasons. No one thinks a Dubai horse can come over here and win the Derby. The main reason is no one has done it yet. But Etched is going to run on February 19th and then in the UAE Derby.  Etched could drift up to 25-1 because he did not run in the Breeder's Cup or any major stakes races.  If he wins both preps he could easily be 7-1 on Derby Day.

The Fillies offer the most value.  Mainly because I think Country Star will run in the Derby.  I also am not sold on Indian Blessing getting the 9 furlongs.   Horses with a chip and a chair include:  By the Light, C. J's Leelee, Eight Belles and Izarra.
